Police issued a total of 384 traffic fines during a targeted operation conducted in the Paphos district and on surrounding highways between 6am and 6pm on Thursday.
According to the police, the majority of the fines – 82 in total – were issued for tachograph violations. Tachographs are devices that record driving times, rest periods, and other work or availability periods for drivers of heavy vehicles.
Another 69 fines were issued for drivers not wearing seat belts, 61 for the use of electronic devices while driving, and 32 for speeding. Additionally, six vehicles were seized.
The operation was part of an ongoing campaign aimed at reducing serious road collisions and promoting road safety awareness, police said.
