An annual ‘Police Day’ will take place in Paphos for the first time on Saturday, according to an announcement on the Cyprus Police Facebook page.
The event will be held at the square outside the medieval castle in Kato Paphos from 10am to 5pm. The aim is to give the public the opportunity to get to know the police and, in turn, for the police to strengthen their relationship with the public.
The programme will include air and sea demonstrations, as well as presentations by police dogs and police explosives and fire experts.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the popular Police philharmonic band and other singers.
“Police will also be on hand to provide information about police departments and equipment,” the announcement said.
There will also be a number of activities for children including face-painting and other surprises.
