An 84-year-old man from Mouttalos in Paphos who had been reported missing on Saturday night was found alive and well on Sunday morning in a field between his home village and Chlorakas.
The pensioner had left home around 7.30pm on Saturday night to go to his local coffee shop but never returned home.
The search began before midnight with personnel from the police, civil defence, the game fund, the fire services and the emergency response unit EMAK with the use of sniffer dogs.
They found the elderly man at around 7.50am on Sunday wandering in a field off the road between the two villages. The pensioner was taken to hospital and examined by doctors who pronounced him to be in good health.
