A hectare of dry grass and wild vegetation was burnt by a fire in Palia Pentalia, Paphos on Sunday evening.
The fire which started at 8.45pm was extinguished by 11.30pm. As a precaution a fire truck remained in the area during the night.
Members of the police force and the fire service will carry out further tests on Monday to investigate the cause of the blaze.
Another fire, in the Lakatamia industrial area of Nicosia, broke out outside a warehouse of a car workshop on Sunday afternoon and destroyed tyres and vehicle parts before it was brought under control.
While the owner was welding outside the warehouse a pile of tires caught fire and the blaze spread to the warehouse itself
